A bike can need a tune-up, a replacement part or a new owner. Bikes Not Bombs brings those decisions to one Jamaica Plain address, with a bike shop and a bicycle-reuse program. Decide which service you need before loading a bike into a car or making a special trip.

Start with the shop

The official bike-shop page lists 284 Amory Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. Posted hours checked September 6 are Tuesday through Friday, noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday and Monday are closed. Call 617-522-0222 about holiday hours, a repair or the availability of a particular bicycle.

Use the shop's current directions for the entrance: enter the parking lot from Amory Street and turn immediately left. The archive photograph shows the larger Brewery complex, not a verified shop doorway. Open the Amory Street location.

Donate during staffed hours

The organization asks donors to bring bicycles during its posted receiving hours and come inside to complete the donation form. It specifically asks people not to leave bikes outside. Read the bicycle-recycling guidance before arriving to confirm what it can accept and how to hand it over.

For a repair enquiry, describe the problem and ask about assessment, cost and timing before assuming same-day service. For a donation, note the bicycle's condition and any missing parts. A short call can prevent an unnecessary trip with an item the program cannot use.
