What is free, and what is separate

The U.S. Navy's visitor information confirms that public visits aboard USS Constitution are free. Visits are first come, first served; public-tour reservations are not offered. The nearby USS Constitution Museum is a separate institution, so check its own visitor information before adding it to a budget plan.

Bring physical identification

The Navy requires visitors aged 18 or over to show a physical federal- or state-issued photo ID, or a passport, to board. Digital identification is not accepted. Visitors under 18 do not need an approved ID. Allow time for the security process rather than arriving at the final minute.

Current Navy guidance lists Tuesday–Sunday public hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with separate holiday arrangements. Weather or operational needs can close the ship. Check the Navy's current hours on the day of the visit.
